FLW First year Pro David Williams takes home $102,700 first place prize with a four day, 20 bass limit weighing 64lbs 9 ounces on the FLW Tour at Lewis Smith Lake.
Williams skipped a jig around and under docks up the White Oak, Crooked and Rock Creek Arms. He was able to catch most of his weight fairly early each morning catching largemouth and spotted bass. Although he didn’t have a great practice, he was able to locate fish in the areas noted and it was more than enough to get him the victory. He also attributed the lakes similarities to his home lakes back in North Carolina which he felt gave him the added edge.
Here’s how the to top 10 Pros finished out on Lewis Smith:
1st: David Williams, Maiden, N.C., 20 bass, 64-9, $102,700

On the Co-angler side of the house, congrats goes out to Joel Willert of Prior Lake, Minnesota, who won the Co-angler Division and $20,100 Friday with a two-day total of 10 bass weighing 24 pounds, 4 ounces. After winning the Co-angler title at Lake Cumberland earlier this month, Willert became the fifth co-angler in FLW Tour history to win back-to-back events.
I’m the Bass Dude with an FLW Tour Update. No need for the tightlines here as the top ten all weighed in a limit of bass all four days.
