Every wonder what the best approach is when you hit that favorite spot. Its early morning and not a ripple on the water. Do I quietly hit that spot with my favorite plastic and gently flip or pitch in or do I create havoc on the top of the water with my favorite buzzbait and watch the water explode or does that scare the fish off and leaves me wondering if I made the right choice. Or I can choose option three, which gives me the option to hit the area with a quiet topwater and get a feel for the day and see what the fish want on that particular day.
The real answer is, I really don’t know. I have been on both sides of this, quietly creeping in and connecting with some nice largemouth and of course just the opposite, coming up empty handed and wondering if I should have rolled in loud with my top water arsenal. We can flip the tables, I come in loud without success and then I wonder if I’ve scared the fish off.
I have even gone as far as to turn off my equipment to keep things as quiet as possible in the water and other times have kept it on and came up empty on both occasions.
All in all, I am not sure what the answer is and I would venture to say it all comes with what your feeling is for that particular area or spot.
If you have any suggestions, I am all ears.
